Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest medical laboratory, seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist at the Winrock location. The role requires independent work, handling multiple modalities, and potential apprenticeship for those new to the field.

Regular attendance during scheduled hours is essential; some on-call duties, evenings, and weekends may apply. The position offers benefits, PTO, and opportunities for growth within a patient-focused lab team.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant program or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits problem solving to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Shares on-call responsibilities by location as assigned.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication.
• Uses professional judgment when dealing with clients and co-workers.
• Performs clerical duties and documents critical communication when needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Supports on-call coverage to meet service levels.
• Covers holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Basic PC skills are required.
