Job summary

Helms Home Care is seeking registered nurses to provide infusion therapy nursing services in patients' homes on a PRN basis in South Boston, VA. Responsibilities include catheter access, vital signs, and administration of medications while delivering compassionate, personalized care.

Requirements include an active RN license and at least 1 year of infusion therapy or catheter care experience. Travel is required with mileage reimbursement and flexible scheduling to fit two visits per week.

Qualifications

• Current RN license with competency in infusion therapy.
• Minimum 1 year experience in infusion therapy or catheter care.
• Must have reliable transportation and a means to communicate scheduling updates.

Responsibilities

• Perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, ports, PICCs/central lines) and monitor vitals.
• Administer medications as prescribed (antibiotics, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds).
• Provide patient education on self-administration of medications.
• Document visit notes via electronic charting and submit promptly.

Responsibilities:

• As per the Patients needs perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, PICC/central lines), vitals/assessments, medication administration (Abx, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds), blood draws
• Provide patient education on self-administration of medication
• Make visit notes through electronic charting and submit promptly

Qualifications: Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license with competent in the duties described above
• Minimum 1-year experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care
• Reliable transportation, access to a printer/scanner/fax machine
• Must be able to communicate promptly with our scheduling personnel
• Expect to do 2 visits per week
• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
