Job summary

Helms Home Care in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in infusion therapy to provide in-home care. This PRN role focuses on delivering safe, compassionate infusion services to patients in their homes, with adherence to care plans and documentation.

You will perform IV access, administer medications, monitor vitals, educate patients, and complete timely visit notes using our scheduling system.

Qualifications

• RN license active and in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year infusion therapy experience.
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record.
• Ability to communicate promptly with scheduling staff.
• Expect to complete ~2 visits per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide catheter access and care (peripheral IVs, PICC, central lines) per patient needs.
• Administer medications including antibiotics, TPN, IVIG as prescribed.
• Monitor vitals, perform assessments, and conduct blood draws.
• Document visit notes promptly in electronic charting.

Responsibilities:

• As per the Patients needs perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, PICC/central lines), vitals/assessments, medication administration (Abx, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds), blood draws


• Provide patient education on self-administration of medication


• Make visit notes through electronic charting and submit promptly

Qualifications: Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license with competent in the duties described above


• Minimum 1-year experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care


• Reliable transportation, access to a printer/scanner/fax machine


• Must be able to communicate promptly with our scheduling personnel


• Expect to do 2 visits per week


• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
