Job summary

Helms Home Care in Newport News, VA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for PRN infusion therapy visits to patients at home. You will perform catheter access and care, administer meds, monitor vitals, and provide education for self-administration. Two visits per week expected, with reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year infusion therapy, catheter maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform catheter access and care (peripheral IVs, ports, PICC/central lines) and monitor vitals.
• Administer medications including antibiotics, TPN, IVIG and other meds.
• Provide patient education on self-administration of medications and document visits promptly.

Responsibilities

• As per the Patients needs perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, PICC/central lines), vitals/assessments, medication administration (Abx, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds), blood draws
• Provide patient education on self-administration of medication
• Make visit notes through electronic charting and submit promptly

QualificationsRequirements

• Current Registered Nurse license with competent in the duties described above
• Minimum 1-year experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care
• Reliable transportation, access to a printer/scanner/fax machine
• Must be able to communicate promptly with our scheduling personnel
• Expect to do 2 visits per week
• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
