Job summary

Cardinal Health, in partnership with PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble, is seeking a Pharmacist II for PRN coverage. The role involves dispensing medications, verifying orders, supervising technicians, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

The position requires a Texas Pharmacist license, IV certification or ability to obtain, and prior inpatient hospital experience. Typical hours align with facility needs, with after-hours and weekend coverage as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with a PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Texas license in good standing.
• IV certification or ability to obtain; IV compounding experience preferred.
• Inpatient/hospital experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; educate patients.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and adjusts dosages per protocol.
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians and ensures compliant operations.
• Educates patients on proper medication use and effects.
• Manages narcotics, inventory control and accreditation tasks.
• Contacts nurses and physicians to verify orders and obtain information.
• Supports Pharmacy Director in accreditation and system changes.
