Job summary

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble and is currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacist for as-needed coverage during weekdays and on-call after hours, weekends and holidays. Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

The Pharmacist will verify orders, dispense medications, supervise technicians, and ensure accreditation and compliance tasks are completed. Expect patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

Pharmacist must hold a Texas license in good standing.
IV certification or ability to obtain it.
IV compounding experience is highly preferred.
Hospital/inpatient experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Verifies physician orders and dispenses medications using the pharmacy information system.
Supervises Pharmacy Technicians and ensures regulatory compliance.
Adjusts dosages per established protocols and supports antimicrobial stewardship.
Educates patients on proper medication use and discharge instructions.
Manages narcotics and inventory control, with routine audits.
Contacts nurses and physicians to verify orders and obtain information.
Assists the Pharmacy Director with accreditation and operational changes.
Other duties as assigned.
