Qualifications

• Active Texas pharmacist license in good standing.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV certification required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate pharmacy information systems.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Vendor credentialing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders for medications using the pharmacy information system and checks drug/dose.
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant, efficient operations.
• Adjusts dosages based on established protocols and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Educates patients on medication usage and expectations.
• Manages narcotics, inventory control, and compliance tasks.
• Contacts nurses and physicians to verify orders and gather information.
• Assists the Pharmacy Director with accreditation and system improvements.
