Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Cedar Park, TX, is seeking a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team.

You will assist in preparing patients, equipment, and the sterile field, and you will pass instrumentation to the surgeon as needed during procedures. As a member of the surgical services team, you will collaborate with RNs and circulating staff, maintain instrument counts, and ensure sterile, ready-to-use rooms and supplies.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Surgical Technician with demonstrated competency in multiple inpatient surgical specialties.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital-conducted on-the-job training with proof of program content and completion.
• BLS certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
• Certification must be maintained within 180 days of graduation from NBSTSA/NCCT or approved program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and preparing the operating room suite and equipment.
• Perform in a sterile field and pass instrumentation to the surgeon.
• Maintain instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring sterilization and availability.
• Support intra-operative management of procedures and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct instrument counts and OR readiness.
