Job summary

Azspineandjoint is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (PRN) to support operating room teams in surgical procedures. The role involves preparing and maintaining equipment, setting up the OR, and assisting surgeons and nurses throughout perioperative care.

The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, CPR certified with 0-2 years of related experience, and may have preferred total joint/orthopedic experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Certified to perform CPR with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
• Total Joint/orthopedic experience is not required but preferred.
• Certified or certification pending.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Sets up operating room with instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions prior to operations.
• Tends to patient during pre-operation procedures following facility regulations.
• Performs pre-operation skin preparation and equipment checks.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensures proper functioning.
• Gets patients ready for surgery and assists with positioning and draping.
• Monitors vital signs and assists the surgical team with sterile gowning and gloving.
• Passes instruments to surgeons and assists with supplies and counts.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment.
• Transports patients post-operation to recovery and restocks the OR.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
