Job summary

HCA Florida Westside Hospital in Florida is seeking a PRN Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to provide expert preoperative and perioperative care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient surgical workflows.

You will assess patients, prepare for procedures, manage IV therapy, participate in site verification, and support continuous improvement while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year applicable experience required.
• ACLS and BLS within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and medications.
• Participate in universal protocols and time-out/debriefing.
• Identify emergencies and respond promptly.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, techs, and team members.
• Document patient condition and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients and families about follow-up care.
