Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Ypsilanti, MI is seeking Private Duty caregivers to support elderly clients in their homes. Flexible 4-12 hour shifts; evening coverage from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel max of 25 miles.
• Weekend Availability.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices and mobility aids as needed.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers and mobility.
• Monitor health status and report changes to supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of the client’s living area and assist with light housekeeping.
• Use and care for devices such as catheters or oxygen supplies as required.
• Plan and participate in meaningful life enrichment activities.
• Transport clients to appointments or errands.
• Complete required documents and charting.
• Prepare nutritious meals for clients.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Follow Homestead policies and procedures.

Our current client is looking for assistance from 630pm-1030pm.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures
