Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Novi, MI is seeking Private Duty caregivers for evening shifts and flexible hours. You will provide physical and emotional support to elderly clients in their homes.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, transfers, meals, and transportation to appointments. A background check is required, and drivers with reliable transportation are preferred. Starting pay is $17 per hour with options for part-time or full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Travel Max of 25miles
• Weekend Availability
