Job summary

Homestead Health Care is seeking Private Duty caregivers in the Ann Arbor area. You will be a vital pillar of support, bringing joy and comfort to our elderly clients, with 4 to 12-hour flexible shifts.

We start at $18.00 per hour, offering competitive pay, flexible schedules, and opportunities for growth. Benefits include paid training, and support from a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel max of 25 miles.
• Weekend Availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Transport clients to appointments or run errands.
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals.
• Maintain cleanliness of the living environment and assist with light housekeeping.

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client's health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors' appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures
