Job summary

Homestead Health Care is seeking private duty caregivers to support elderly clients in the Commerce Township area, MI. You will provide both physical and emotional assistance, forming genuine connections and ensuring comfort during shifts from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.

We offer flexible 4–12 hour shifts with competitive pay and opportunities for growth. Training, support, and an employee referral program are provided to help you succeed in this Top Workplace environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
Experience passing medications.
Able to pass a criminal background check.
Valid Driver License/Insurance.
Reliable transportation.
Travel max of 25 miles.
Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

Use transfer devices such as Hoyer lifts and gait belts.
Assist with daily living activities: transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking.
Evaluate changes in client health and speak with the care team.
Maintain a clean environment and light housekeeping.
Use and clean devices like catheters and oxygen equipment.
Communicate changes in condition to supervisor promptly.
Develop meaningful life-enrichment activities.
Follow schedule and assist with repositioning.
Transport client to appointments or shopping.
Complete required documents and charting.
Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals.
Provide companionship and follow policies.

Our current client is looking for assistance from 630pm-1030pm.

Responsibilities

Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
Complete all required documents and charting
Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
Provide companionship for the client
Follow all Homestead policies and procedures
