Job summary

T-Mobile seeks a Corporate Counsel to provide privacy guidance for our financial products and data initiatives. You will partner with the legal team and business units to craft practical, compliant solutions in a fast-paced, tech-driven setting.

You will advise on GLBA, FCRA, state privacy laws, and emerging consumer privacy requirements, conduct privacy impact assessments, and draft policies and contracts balancing business needs with regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited university with outstanding academic credentials.
  • Current bar membership (in good standing) in at least one U.S. state.
  • Experience with privacy preferred.
  • Strong aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and advise on highly complex, high-impact matters and navigate ambiguity.
  • Ability to establish self as subject matter expert in specialty field(s).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with a range of personalities and roles across the business with executive maturity.
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization with a focus on delivering results efficiently.
  • Drive to solve customer pain points and Love Our Customers.
  • Desire and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the company on privacy laws, regulations, obligations, and industry standards.
  • Counsel on GLBA and state financial privacy laws, FCRA, and emerging consumer privacy laws.
  • Advise on privacy considerations for emerging data uses, including AI-enabled products/services.
  • Guide privacy impact assessments and analyses of products, services, systems, and processes.
  • Develop strong business partnerships to guide privacy considerations for strategies and products.
  • Drive a compliant program through drafting policies, disclosures, and training.
  • Draft and negotiate related provisions in commercial contracts as needed.
  • Analyze legislation and regulations for the Government Affairs team.
  • Advance other department initiatives as assigned.
