The Print Stop and Copy Center at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring an Administrative Support Associate to handle printing, copying, and customer service at both Student Stores and Print Stop Franklin. Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, along with knowledge of digital print equipment.
You will work with students, faculty, staff, and visitors, coordinate production tasks, assist with file preparation, and manage basic finishing options.

Auxiliary Services provides a variety of services and products in a convenient and customer-oriented manner to enhance the quality of campus life for student, faculty, staff, and visitors. These services include: Armored Car, Carolina Dining Services, Carolina Managed Print Services, Laundry, PID Office, Print Stop Printing, Student Store, UNC One Card Office, University Mail Services, and Vending. The Print Stop & Copy Center offers walk-up, as well as online submission of printing and copying services to faculty, staff, and students. Services include B&W and color copies, posters, banners, lamination, and other related products as well as larger printing projects. It is also the official provider of UNC business cards, letterhead, and envelopes to the campus community.
This position, under the day-to-day supervision of the Print Stop Manager will report to the Business Officer over The Print Stop and Copy Center, a Division of Auxiliary Services. This position will have duties in both UNC Chapel Hill locations of the Print Stop: Student Stores, located at 207 South Road and Print Stop Franklin, 440 W. Franklin Street. This position must show proficiency in methods of access to and preparing print file layout and understanding the tools needed to accomplish this (MS Office suite and a working knowledge of the main components of Adobe Creative Suite tools). In addition, this position must possess knowledge and operation of digital print equipment in a production environment (Production printers, setting tray/media types, finishing options, etc.), as well for Mail Center equipment (folders, inserters, envelope printers). Duties will include expertise on all types of required equipment mentioned, as well as basic experience of various types of punching, binding, and cutting equipment (Coil, GBC , Velo, Slitter, etc.) that is necessary to complete job requests. Duties at our Student Stores location will require interactions with students, faculty, staff, and visitors at our customer facing service desk. The position will use its knowledge of print production to assess orders that are assigned or that result from interactions with persons at our sales counter. Additional duties may be assigned by upline management.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
The ideal candidate will have work experience in a retail or production printing and/or mail center operation with a professional customer service-oriented organization. This position should possess knowledge and operation of digital print equipment in a production environment as well for Mail Center equipment. This position should show proficiency in print file layout and understanding the tools needed to accomplish this (MS Office suite and a working knowledge of the main components of Adobe Creative Suite tools.
The ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs. is needed. Ability to be on their feet regularly and for extended periods of time, with frequent reaching onto high shelves, kneeling/crouching to low shelves, loading and unloading materials.
