Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to support wafer fab tools and processes in multiple functional areas for PIN, Zener, and Schottky Diodes on Silicon and GaAs wafers.

This hands-on role focuses on commercial, military, and radar instrumentation markets within a small manufacturing facility. You will lead process improvements, analyze data, and drive reliability, with opportunities to influence yields, cycle time, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with Silicon Wafer Fabrication Process.
• Knowledge of SPC and DoE.
• Familiar with Six Sigma principles.
• Proficiency with 8D problem-solving methods.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis.
• Strong data analysis skills using Excel, JMP, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in semiconductor wafer processing.
• Understand and contribute to process modules (Photo, Etch, Deposition, Diffusion).
• Create and update process specifications.
• Improve equipment performance for reliability and repeatability.
• Improve process performance for control and repeatability.
• Lead teams to improve yields, reduce cycle time or cost.
• Use SPC for monitoring of critical parameters.
• Process qualification of new equipment.
• Analyze and present data to technical audiences.
• Other design, development, and support tasks.
