Job summary

Western Digital is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our wafer manufacturing team. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and sustaining high-volume semiconductor processes such as Wet Etch, Snow, Liftoff, and Electroplating. You will work with cross-functional partners to drive yield, cost, and cycle-time improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. or M.S. in a related field and has experience in semiconductor environments, with strong data analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. with 2 Years or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microfabrication, research labs, or other technology-focused environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, SQL, Minitab, SAS, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on defective wafers, disposition wafers on hold, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive achievement of yield, cost, and cycle time goals.
• Evaluate and qualify new equipment, materials, and processes.
• Implement and optimize APC, SPC, and process control schemes.
• Document processes and provide training to the manufacturing team.
