Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a senior UX designer to join its Digital Customer Experience team. You will influence product and design decisions, partner with design systems, and mentor designers to deliver data-driven, accessible experiences across mobile, web, and desktop platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in visual communication/design or related field.
• 5+ years as UX practitioner in large or matrixed orgs.
• Experience collaborating with engineers from inception to implementation in Agile environments.
• Experience across disciplines, product lines, roles, time zones.
• Knowledge of remote unmoderated testing tools and moderated testing platforms.
• Experience in responsive, adaptive, accessible design.
• Experience with design for mobile apps, desktop, and web.

Responsibilities

• Influence leadership and set a creative vision at scale for travel-ease for customers and employees.
• Partner with design systems team to define standards, processes, governance for reuse.
• Present work clearly to stakeholders with storytelling and compelling visuals.
• Mentor designers and provide feedback to build data-driven, customer-centric designs.
• Coordinate interdependencies with UX leaders to ensure consistent experiences across channels.
• Develop design strategies, lead ideation and exploration activities.
• Champion accessibility and inclusive design.
• Manage design tool updates and vendor relationships; support tool funding.
• Streamline design processes and run regular design reviews and office hours.
• Stay updated on design and tech trends and identify opportunities for innovation.
