Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Principal Transmission Line Engineer to lead and manage high voltage transmission line projects across Power and Renewables. You will design with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, prepare construction documents, and act as a client-facing SME to grow our team.

The role requires 20+ years in transmission line engineering, an ABET-accredited engineering degree, and a PE license (SE license preferred). You will mentor others and help shape design standards while coordinating cross-discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 20 years of transmission line engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Licensure in multiple states preferred.
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
• Expert in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE; ability to train others.
• Experience with utilities and proven client relationship skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor and manage workloads across teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; MFAD/LPILE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate high voltage transmission line projects (69kV–500kV) from design to construction documents.
• Provide expert consultation on design, development and implementation of technical plans and systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal design standards and processes.
• Serve as client contact to determine project scope and requirements; ensure quality control and compliance.
• Prepare construction drawings, criteria, plan/profile drawings, and specifications.
• Estimate construction costs and specify materials; train others and participate in bids.
