Job summary

Northern Trust Corp in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex business-IT initiatives. You will oversee project scope, develop detailed work plans, estimates, resource plans, and serve as the single point of contact from concept through final implementation.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least six, typically eight or more years of project team experience, with at least two years in a leadership position.

• Specialized knowledge of IT projects, excellent consultative skills, strong analytical ability and ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff.
• Strong analytical skills are needed to analyze and evaluate technical information and coordinate projects.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT Project management and strategies.
• Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.
• Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation.
• Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Acts as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
• Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
• Handles the most complex IT projects. Coordinates with users to determine requirements.
