Job summary

Empower is seeking a Principal Technical Business Systems Analyst to drive complex business process evaluation and system requirements for software delivery. You will collaborate with IT, Architects, QA, and Engineers to translate needs into actionable requirements and mentor analysts within the COE

In this role you’ll influence best practices, contribute to roadmaps, and support scalable, resilient applications while serving as a key liaison during major incidents.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of lead Business Systems Analyst experience.
• Ability to analyze complex business processes and identify improvements.
• Proven ability to collect, document, and manage system requirements.
• Strong communication to translate stakeholder needs into technical terms.
• Experience bridging business needs with technical solutions across multi-platform apps.
• Excellent documentation skills for reports, workflows, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to gather and document requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear user stories aligned with project goals.
• Independently conduct analysis, influence best practices.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders and development teams.
• Perform interviews, story mapping, workflow analysis, and observation for IT projects.
• Analyze existing systems to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Review requirements with QA and Engineers and validate functionality.
• Troubleshoot, perform impact analysis, and propose solutions.
• Review enhancements with stakeholders and document technical solutions.
• Stay informed on industry best practices and Agile trends.
• Mentor Analysts and lead the COE for Analyst community in the Value stream.
• Contribute ideas to application roadmaps for scalability and resilience.
• Be a key contact for business queries during major incidents.
