Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling to join a DoD-focused team. You will create physics-based models and develop EO/IR/RF capabilities, translating complex physics into robust software.

Responsibilities include building C++ models, collaborating across teams, and mentoring peers while maintaining an onsite presence in Tucson. U.S. citizenship and interim/secret clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design in C/C++, MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, Apple OS, or Windows command line.
• Background in electro-optics, radar processing, EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing, or discrimination algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel modeling techniques for advanced systems.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable way.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and physics in software implementations.
• Enable customer success through adoption and use of modeling solutions.
• Work across programming languages and build environments within an established software product.
• Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
• Mentor teammates with EO or RF expertise.
