Role Overview

Establish and lead the Energy and Sustainable Solution (ESS) Global Category Procurement for Static & Fabricated Equipment, aligning with UOP business leadership and strategic plans. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Category Management at ESS Procurement, you will develop and execute category and supply strategies for ESS Project Business (UOP and Capital) worldwide, focusing on supplier rationalization, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and spend migration, including NPI spend to preferred suppliers. The role involves delivering sustainable value through productivity, cost savings, and working capital improvements. You will oversee a global spend of over $150M, lead new product developments, build partnerships, and ensure compliance with policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Minimize costs through strategic contracting, protecting intellectual property, enforcing compliance, and competitive practices.
  • Participate in leadership meetings to drive strategic initiatives and foster collaboration.
  • Partner with sourcing and cross-functional teams to align on category strategies.
  • Support NPI sourcing, supplier identification, and launch schedules.
  • Develop strategies supporting business growth and M&A integrations.
  • Maintain price databases and benchmarking tools to support project estimation and engineering efforts.
  • Consolidate fragmented supplier spend, reduce non-strategic suppliers, and optimize procurement processes.
  • Identify and manage suppliers to meet business needs and strategies.
  • Drive a unified approach to supplier management across business units.
  • Negotiate and execute supply agreements with strategic suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years in strategic/category sourcing and procurement of static and fabricated equipment.
  • Experience in NPI processes and contract negotiation (minimum 5+ years).
  • ERP/SAP proficiency.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including supplier visits.
  • Strong skills in root cause analysis, problem solving, and leadership communication.
  • Technical knowledge of supply base, acquisition planning, negotiations, and contract management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields; Master’s preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPSM, PMP are highly valued.
  • Experience in global, matrixed organizations and project management tools.
  • Proactive, with excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, SAP, and e-sourcing platforms.
