Job description

What you can expect:

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will drive continuous improvements for our Zoom Gateway and AI services. This role requires expertise in building robust automation, collaborating with developers, enhancing monitoring systems, and contributing to the overall advancement of our services. You will be responsible for, building/deploying the VoIP service. Monitoring infrastructure for these services, developing new automation to reduce manual effort, and being the on-call owner for assigned services.

About the Team:

Zooms Engineering operations are the driving force behind the seamless functionality and continuous availability that define the platform's unparalleled user experience.

The VoIP team handles multiple gateway services like CRC and audio conferencing required for Zoom Meetings.
The team monitors communication infrastructure, by employing robust operational and monitoring strategies. These guarantee the stability and security of Zoom's infrastructure, allowing millions of users worldwide to connect effortlessly.

Responsibilities:

• Having the ability to Mentor other engineers in the team to follow best automation practices to reduce the toil & lead the automation effort.

• Having experience working with VoIP systems and familiarity with SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and having experience deploying and managing these on k8s is essential.

• Hands-on experience working on Production service deployments using Kubernetes.

• Following the operational DevOps process and take rotational on-call work.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years minimum of work experience as a Cloud DevOps or DevOps engineer in an IC/ Lead position.

• Have experience leading large scale and high impact technical projects, This cloud DevOps role is focusing mainly on AWS, k8s, terraform, Linux, Python , coding.

• Have experience working with VoIP systems and familiarity with SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and having experience deploying and managing these on k8s.

• Have proven experience in Kubernetes, Dockerized workload deployment, and monitoring for it for large-scale distributed systems deployed on prod.

• Have implemented Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Have experience developing large scale Ansible automation.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and integration and Kubernetes, container, and other micro-service technologies.

• Experience with Redis or mysql database and Git, Jenkins, Argocd and other DevOps tools.

• Have understanding of SIP, RTP, RTCP.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
