Job summary

HomeXpress is seeking a Principal Software Developer in our Information Technology department, reporting to the VP of Software Development. The role leads architectural design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications and APIs in a fast-paced mortgage tech environment.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction across SOA, microservices, and event-driven patterns, ensure security and SDLC compliance, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive scalable, reliable solutions in

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years of hands-on development with C#/.NET and PHP applications.
Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise web apps, APIs, and integrations.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and DevOps practices.
Experience with source control and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience troubleshooting production issues.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise software applications, APIs, integrations, services, and microservices across the full SDLC.
Lead application architecture and solution design, choosing patterns to deliver scalable, secure, resilient solutions.
Serve as technical owner for assigned apps, ensuring long-term maintainability and performance.
Participate in project estimation, planning, and governance; contribute to standards and best practices.
Create and maintain technical docs, designs, architecture standards, and implementation plans.
Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews for internal and external teams.
Ensure adherence to SDLC, security, quality, and regulatory requirements.
