Job summary

Ford Pro Telematics is seeking a Principal Engineer to drive architectural visions for data-intensive SaaS platforms and API services. You will lead the development of back-end services, pipelines, and frontends, guiding multiple teams and ensuring high reliability at scale.

You will mentor engineers, shape product strategy with cross-functional partners, and push for strong engineering practices, tooling, and incident prevention across the org.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership/architectural responsibilities.
• 5+ years designing and building scalable, data-intensive web apps/SaaS products.
• 5+ years API development in Java/Kotlin and modern frontend frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural vision and drive technical roadmap for large-scale SaaS apps.
• Mentor and coach engineers to improve architectural discipline.
• Partner with Product/Design/Business to translate requirements into scalable designs.
• Scope and plan multi-quarter enterprise initiatives with blueprints.
