Job summary

Ford Pro Intelligence is seeking a Principal Engineer to drive the architectural vision and build data-intensive, scalable SaaS platforms for fleet management. You will lead backend services, APIs, and frontends in a cloud-native, multi-team environment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design, and define technical roadmaps while delivering reliable and secure software. A leader with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration will thrive here.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in a leadership/architectural role.
• 5+ years designing and building scalable, data-intensive web applications and SaaS products.
• 5+ years API development with Java or Kotlin and modern frontend frameworks like React or AngularJS.
• 5+ years with relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL, and high-volume data pipelines.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and establishing scalable engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technical roadmap for large-scale SaaS applications spanning multiple teams.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers; promote technical excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business to shape strategy and translate requirements into architecture.
• Scope, estimate, and blueprint enterprise initiatives with capacity planning.
• Lead hands-on development of core architectural components and complex projects.
• Raise the bar by introducing new tooling, patterns, and processes for performance and reliability.
• Lead incident analysis and proactive problem management across the stack.
