Job summary

American Electric Power (On-Site) is seeking a Project Manager to Principal for Construction Utility Projects across multiple locations. The role involves directing base to complex projects, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring safe, efficient delivery while maintaining clear project governance.

You will lead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and procurement activities, mentor junior staff, and advance continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with related field and required experience.
• Outage management, project controls, cost estimating, and procurement experience are preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct or assist in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating assigned project activities.
• Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the AEP System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Develop, review and coordinate the project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff.
• Effectively communicate project details and status updates.
• Develop working relationships with the project team, plant and operating company staff, internal and external customers or partners, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Provide guidance and feedback, to improve design, systems, procedures, schedules, and costs.
