Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Project Manager/PM Senior/PM Principal to lead base to complex projects in a matrix environment. You will provide leadership, coordinate plans, budgets, and staffing, and drive safe, efficient delivery with customer value.

Role emphasizes outage management, project controls, cost estimating, and contracting. PMP preferred; valid driver’s license required; travel up to 25%. Compensation ranges from $87,633 to $151,132.50.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field with three (3) years qualified experience, two-year Associate’s degree with five (5) years of qualified experience, or High School Diploma/GED with seven (7) years qualified experience.
Three (3) years of qualified experience as a PROJECT MANAGER ASSOCIATE (Grade 6) preferred, OR demonstrated competencies through results in a shorter timeline.
Project management disciplines include outage management, business/financial administration, major construction field experience, project estimating, controls, engineering, and related experience.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate assigned project activities.
Develop and coordinate project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff.
Communicate project details and status; lead meetings and stakeholder presentations.
Build relationships with internal/external customers, contractors, and vendors.
Provide guidance to improve design, systems, procedures, schedules, and costs.
Ensure timely performance of project activities and assist in leading intermediate projects.
