Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Project Manager Principal SG9 to lead intermediate and complex projects in a matrix environment, directing teams and coordinating stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget.

This on-site role requires strong communication, leadership, and risk management skills, with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction. Work locations include Fort Wayne, IN and New Albany, OH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or related field.
• 7+ years of qualified experience with a Bachelor’s degree; PMP preferred but not required.
• Two-year Associate’s degree with 9+ years of experience; HS with 11+ years also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead mitigation projects of defective equipment for Substation, Protection/Controls and/or Transmission Line.
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise project activities.
• Maintain project budget and schedule; communicate status to stakeholders.
