Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead design for Yahoo Everywhere. You will drive concept work for new surfaces, own the final design decisions, and ensure brand fidelity across partner integrations.

You will shape how Yahoo appears inside partner products and lead cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and business teams. This role focuses on concept exploration, deal shaping, and ensuring a strong user experience across web, mobile, and ambient surfaces, with

Qualifications

10+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products and shipping experiences.
Strong portfolio showing strategic and systems-level leadership across end-to-end product experiences.
Experience as final design decision maker with examples of calls and reasoning.
Experience designing for partner integrations, embedded or white-label products, OEM placements, or platform distribution.
Concept and vision work in portfolio, including speculative directions that moved business conversations.
Comfort in commercial rooms, presenting to partners and executives and influencing decisions.
Fluency with brand systems and knowing where brand can flex.
Strong UX fundamentals: visual design, interaction design, information architecture, usability.
Experience designing across web, mobile, and device surfaces.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive product direction and outcomes.
Exceptional communication and storytelling to influence strategy at multiple levels.
Experience guiding other designers and raising quality without managing them.
Strong craft sense for surfaces-owned by others.
Proficiency with design tools (Figma) and AI tools (Claude/Cursor/Codex).
Experience defining or evolving design systems and product frameworks.

Responsibilities

Own design across multiple tracks: pitches, partner implementations, and blue-sky concepts.
Make final calls on design direction and ensure brand identity across partner surfaces.
Represent design in deal conversations and influence deal shaping.
Incorporate partner feedback to craft the best user experience within constraints.
Produce concept work for partners and executives to react to.
Calibrate team direction and manage fidelity and handoffs for execution.
Shape partner playbooks for OEM, consumer platforms, and carrier deals.
