Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead design across Yahoo Everywhere, driving conceptual work and final design decisions for partner surfaces. You will shape branding, user experiences, and cross-functional alignment, influencing deals and partnerships with executives.

You will own end-to-end design across web, mobile, and devices, growing systems and tools like Figma, Claude, Cursor, and Codex while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and business development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products with a track record of shaping product strategy and shipped experiences.
• Strong portfolio showing leadership across end-to-end product experiences and shipped consumer products.
• Experience as final design decision maker with concrete examples and decision rationale.
• Experience designing for partner integrations, embedded or white-label products, OEM placements, or platform distribution.
• Portfolio includes concept and vision work, including speculative directions advancing business conversations.
• Comfort presenting to partners and executives and influencing decisions in commercial settings.
• Fluency with brand systems and knowing where brand can flex.
• Strong UX fundamentals: visual design, interaction design, IA, usability.
• Experience designing across web, mobile, and device surfaces.
• Strong product mindset using research, data, and experimentation to guide strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own design across three tracks: live deals, partner implementation post-deal, and blue-sky concepts for Yahoo Everywhere.
• Make final calls on design direction and ensure alignment with brand identity across partner surfaces.
• Represent design in deal conversations and influence deal shaping.
• Incorporate partner feedback and work through constraints to deliver best user experience.
• Produce concept work to give partners and executives tangible material to react to.
• Set team calibration for fidelity and hand off execution.
• Shape partner-type playbooks for OEM, consumer platform, and carrier deals.
• Collaborate with design leads across weather, finance, news, sports, and games to ensure cohesive product behavior.
