Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead design for Yahoo Everywhere. You will partner with the business lead on new surfaces and partners, and act as the final design decision maker for this team.

The role blends concept work exploring designs on digital surfaces and ambient screens with high-stakes judgment in branding, partner negotiations, and ensuring the user experience stays consistent across deployments. An executional designer handles day-to-day production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products.
• Strong portfolio showing strategic and systems-level leadership.
• Experience as final design decision maker with concrete examples.
• Experience designing for partner surfaces (OEM, embedded, white label).
• Concept and vision work that moved business conversations forward.
• Comfort presenting to partners and executives and influencing decisions.
• Fluency with brand systems and knowing where to flex.
• Strong UX fundamentals across web, mobile, devices.
• Cross-functional leadership with product, eng, biz dev, leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own design across three tracks: pitch work, partner implementation, and blue sky concepts.
• Make final calls on design direction and protect brand identity in deals.
• Represent design in deal conversations and influence negotiations.
• Incorporate partner feedback and craft the best user experience.
• Produce compelling concept work for partners and executives.
• Guide team calibration and hand off execution to the design team.
• Shape partner-type playbooks for OEM, consumer platform, and carrier deals.
• Collaborate with design leads across weather, finance, news, sports, and games.
• Step into identity-level challenges when partners push on branding.
• Build prototypes and high-fidelity work in Figma and AI tools.
