Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to define the technical direction for enterprise mobile solutions. You will work with product, architecture, and engineering leadership to balance speed, quality, and maintainability while remaining hands-on with critical systems.

You will mentor senior engineers, set expectations for reliability and security, and drive CI/CD, testing and observability from day one.

Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on information technology experience in systems analysis, design, development and programming.
7+ years of development experience in Java, Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin.
5+ years designing scalable mobile architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and managing long-term technical decisions across platforms.
5+ years managing stakeholder requirements and technical solutions.
3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
3+ years mentoring engineers and setting engineering standards.
1+ year of experience with AI technologies and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks.
1+ year of Flutter experience.
Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives without formal authority.

Responsibilities

Establish and guide technical direction, standards, and methodology for department-wide technology use.
Lead cross-team architectural reviews and provide benchmarked solutions for complex projects.
Develop strategic technical roadmaps aligned with enterprise technology plans and drive PoC initiatives.
Lead creation and adoption of application standards across the architecture stack.
Act as senior technical contributor on strategic initiatives and ensure successful delivery.
Identify and implement required process changes and drive DevSecOps maturity.
