Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to define the technical direction for mobile and enterprise platforms. You will work with senior teams, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability, security, performance, and operability are built into production systems from day one.

You will lead architectural reviews, drive cross-department initiatives, and shape the roadmap while balancing speed and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience in systems analysis, design, development, and software engineering.
• 7+ years development in Java, Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin.
• 5+ years designing scalable mobile architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• 5+ years managing stakeholder requirements and technical solutions.
• 3+ years CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years setting engineering standards and mentoring engineers.
• 1+ years AI technologies and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks.
• 1+ years Flutter experience.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence engineering direction.

Responsibilities

• Architect technical direction and establish standards for department technology use.
• Lead Technical Advisory council and provide benchmarked solutions across initiatives.
• Develop strategic multi-year technical roadmap aligned with enterprise technology.
• Lead and coordinate Technical Leads to implement common standards across the stack.
• Act as senior technical contributor on strategic initiatives and project definitions.
• Drive DevSecOps maturity and shift-left testing across departments.
• Define and implement CI/CD tooling for all stacks (Angular, Java, Oracle).
• Collaborate with product, design, and leadership to deliver scalable platforms.
