Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to define and drive the technical direction for enterprise mobile solutions, collaborating with product, architecture, and engineering leadership to balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

You will stay hands-on with critical-path systems, mentor senior engineers, and translate prototypes into production-grade platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and operability while embedding testing, observability, and CI/CD from day one.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on information technology experience in systems analysis, design and development.
• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Swift, Swift UI, Kotlin.
• 5+ years designing scalable mobile architectures and long-term technical decisions.
• 5+ years of managing stakeholder requirements and technical solutions.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years establishing engineering standards and mentoring engineers.
• 1+ years of AI technologies and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks.
• 1+ years of experience with Flutter.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence direction.

Responsibilities

• Architect and set technical direction, standards, and methodology.
• Lead technical advisory reviews and influence vendor directions.
• Develop strategic technical direction and multi-year roadmaps.
• Lead technical program efforts and define sensible project groupings.
• Drive process changes and advance DevSecOps maturity and shift-left testing.
