RTX in Tucson seeks an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer for the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems team to develop guidance systems and flight avionics hardware. You will architect subsystems, document requirements, and drive tests across disciplines to meet program needs.

The role demands a STEM degree and 8+ years in flight avionics, active DoD secret clearance, and U.S. citizenship. Travel and mentoring responsibilities are common.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant flight avionics experience.
• Active and transferable DoD security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
• Master’s degree equals 2 years of experience; Ph.D. equals 4 years in substitution for experience.
• Knowledge of mixed signal electronics and MBSE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop electrical systems for missile guidance and flight avionics hardware.
• Document subsystem requirements and test plans; perform peer reviews as subject matter expert.
• Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers across programs.
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers and support multiple programs.
