Job summary

Waters Corporation seeks a Principal Informatics Sales Development Specialist to act as the North American software expert for waters_connect in LC and LC-MS workflows.

In this customer-facing presales role, you will provide demonstrations, technical consultations, and collaborate with Sales, ISS, Product Management, and Professional Services to advance opportunities from evaluation through close across the United States and Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical field (advanced degree preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in laboratory software, analytical instrumentation, mass spectrometry, lab informatics, or related technologies.
• Experience with waters_connect; UNIFI strongly preferred.
• Customer-facing experience in presales, applications, technical sales, or solution consulting.
• Strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to scientific, technical, and business audiences.
• Understanding of LC and LC-MS workflows and laboratory operations.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada (50-75%).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the waters_connect platform for LC and LC-MS applications across the US and Canada.
• Support waters_connect opportunities from evaluation through closure.
• Participate in customer discovery discussions to understand workflow, business, and technical requirements.
• Provide guidance on deployment options, licensing, upgrade paths, and expansion opportunities.
• Address compliance, data management, and administration considerations in discussions.
• Assist commercial teams in positioning waters_connect and addressing competitive software discussions.
