Job summary

Waters Corporation seeks a Principal Presales Consultant, waters_connect, to act as the North American software expert for the on-premises waters_connect platform supporting LC and LC-MS workflows.

In this customer-facing role, you will partner with Territory Account Managers, Mass Spectrometry Specialists, ISS, Product Management, and Professional Services to drive opportunities from evaluation to close, delivering demonstrations and strategic guidance across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in laboratory software, analytical instrumentation, lab informatics, or related technologies.
• Experience with waters_connect; UNIFI experience preferred.
• Customer-facing presales, applications, technical sales, or solution consulting experience.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to scientific, technical, and business audiences.
• Understanding of LC and LC-MS workflows and lab operations.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% across the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for waters_connect for LC/LC-MS applications across the US and Canada.
• Support opportunities from evaluation through close; assist in scoping, configuration, and quoting.
• Lead customer discovery discussions to capture workflow and technical requirements.
• Provide guidance on capabilities, deployment options, licensing, upgrades, and expansion paths.
• Address compliance, data management, and administration considerations in discussions.
• Collaborate with Sales, ISS, Marketing, Product Management, and Professional Services.
