The role emphasizes technical leadership, project management, and mentorship, with opportunities to work on forensics, remediation, and foundation design for diverse structures. The position may be based in any WJE office in the continental US.

Qualifications

• Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s).
• Master's degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant industry experience (25+ preferred) with expertise in foundations, slope stability, earth retention, and settlement issues.
• Strong self-starting ability and a principled, problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Project management: client development, scoping, team assembly, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Technical leadership: apply engineering judgment, mentor SMEs, oversee reviews, and lead field activities.
• Mentorship: develop staff through formal and informal programs across projects.
• Contribute to practice growth: attract and engage clients, share knowledge, and participate in industry activities.
