Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to serve as the technical authority for fire and life safety systems on utility-scale solar, storage, and HV projects. You will ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications from concept through commissioning.

This fully remote role requires up to 25% travel, leadership of SME activities, AHJ coordination, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Ten+ years of fire protection experience and a PE license are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Experience with AHJs, fire marshals, and code officials to secure approvals.
• Strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles.
• Ability to manage external consultants and review work.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
• Establish engineering standards and design criteria.
• Lead participation in national fire protection code committees.
• Interface with AHJs, insurers, and independent engineers on fire safety topics.
