Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Principal Engineer, DevEx (Finance) to drive the developer experience for the company’s vast ad-tech infrastructure. You will shape CI/CD workflows, artifact management, and GitOps deployments while building agentic AI automation that scales across thousands of engineers.

You’ll lead architectural decisions, mentor senior engineers, and partner with Security, Infra, and Compliance to enforce policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in internal developer platforms or CI/CD ecosystems at scale.
• Hands-on experience with production LLM or agentic AI automation workflows with guardrails and evaluation loops.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering and automated development tools (Anthropic Claude via Bedrock, Copilot Enterprise).
• Deep expertise in modern CI/CD, artifact management (Artifactory), and ArgoCD-based deployments.
• Experience setting architectural direction and cross-team alignment across complex domains.
• Strong technical writing with architecture RFCs and enterprise templates.

Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture & Golden Paths: design and rollout of CI/CD, artifact repos, release management, and GitOps deployments.
• Agentic AI & Workflow Automation: deploy AI systems to generate, migrate, validate, and maintain deployment manifests at scale.
• AI Evaluation & Guardrails: build evaluation loops and policy guardrails for safe AI configurations in production.
• Governance & Enterprise Standards: define reusable templates and CI compute standards across the org.
• AI-Augmented DX Enablement: establish AI-assisted code generation benchmarks and automated PR checks.
• Infrastructure & Security Alignment: integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: lead design reviews and mentor senior engineers.
• Product-Minded Platform Management: measure adoption velocity and pipeline reliability.
