Job summary
Trane Technologies is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer Lead for Distributed Energy Resources and Microgrids to drive our renewable energy strategy and advanced storage solutions. You will mentor teams and coordinate across engineering, project development, and sales to deliver scalable, compliant DER projects.
You will shape electrification, resilience, and decarbonization strategies for commercial and industrial clients, leading technical execution and interconnection coordination with
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- State-issued PE license required.
- 7+ years of experience with C&I DER, microgrids, solar PV, and BESS.
- Strong knowledge of DER design and power distribution systems.
- Experience with medium- and high-voltage system design and interconnection processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical development of DER and microgrid projects for commercial, institutional, and industrial clients.
- Guide engineering analyses, system integration, and code compliance.
- Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams to strengthen technical capability.
- Translate business needs into technically sound, scalable energy solutions.
- Collaborate with Project Development, Sales, Regulatory, and Product teams.
