Job summary

Veeva Systems is launching a new AI-driven platform for Life Sciences safety, regulatory, and clinical development. As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will be a founding member of the team and help scale the codebase and engineering organization from the ground up.

You will own cloud architecture, IaC, CI/CD, and container orchestration with Kubernetes and OpenShift, mentoring others and shaping best practices. The role supports flexible work arrangements, including remote work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps roles with tooling and distributed systems.
• Mentor and grow engineering capabilities across teams.
• Extensive AWS design and programming experience.
• Infrastructure as Code and configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Containerization and orchestrators (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Proficient in Python and statically typed languages (Java/Scala/Go).
• Hands-on CI pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Codefresh).
• Experience with monitoring and observability frameworks.
• Strong writing and presentation skills for proposals and docs.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth software engineering expertise in cloud architecture and patterns.
• Implement core DevOps practices including IaC, CI, and automated deployments.
• Build and manage robust CI/CD workflows to boost productivity.
• Provision, manage, and scale infrastructure with Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Drive architectural design and engineering best practices across the org.
• Improve system reliability, availability, and performance to reduce risk.
