CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms to lead the architecture, governance, and evolution of the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake. You will drive cloud-native data engineering across Azure, AWS, and GCP, enabling observability and operational telemetry at scale.

You will mentor teams, shape strategy, and partner with security and product teams to deliver scalable, compliant data platforms handling hundreds of terabytes daily while advancing OpenTelemetry

Qualifications

• 10+ years architecting enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and ingestion ecosystems.
• 8+ years Databricks experience including Unity Catalog and governance.
• 8+ years IaC/CI/CD with Terraform, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• 7+ years designing high-scale streaming ingestion architectures.
• 5+ years in principal engineer/lead architect roles across multi-cloud.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for data platforms.
• Scale ingestion/processing to 250+ TB per day across multi-clouds.
• Govern Databricks architecture, security, metadata, and access controls.
• Drive IaC, policy-as-code, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Set security, governance, observability, and reliability standards.
