Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories seeks a Principal Engineer in Boise, ID or Pullman, WA to unite customer needs, market opportunities, and technical innovation in the data center space. You will bridge customers, Marketing, Product Management, Sales & Customer Service, Engineering Services, and R&D to transform ideas into differentiated products.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or an applicable discipline.
• 15+ years working knowledge and experience of electric power systems or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership and subject matter expertise in Data Centers.
• Excellent technical training, speaking, writing, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel per business need.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the discovery, development, evaluation, and advancement of innovative ideas and growth initiatives for the data center market.
• Translate market opportunities into product requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Influence product strategy, portfolio planning, and roadmaps.
• Educate internal and external audiences regarding SEL capabilities and emerging technologies.
• Monitor product performance, adoption, revenue growth, and customer value realization.
• Serve as the bridge between customers, Marketing, Product Management, Sales & Customer Service, Engineering Services, and R&D.
