Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to contribute to automation, CI/CD, and scalable infrastructure across Aurora, CO, Morrisville, NC, or Sacramento, CA. The role emphasizes agile delivery and collaboration with development teams.

You will define standards, implement tooling, and optimize deployment pipelines while ensuring security and compliance for mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance at time of application.
Active CI Polygraph at time of application.
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD; or 9 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Senior: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD; or 12 additional years in lieu of a degree
Must have all of the following: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
Security+, not needed to start, but must be able to obtain within 6 months
Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems.
Experience in an Agile software development framework
Experience with at least 3 of the preferred qualifications

Responsibilities

Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to support rapid capability maturation and deployment.
Integrate development pipelines with automation, test-driven development, and CI/CD frameworks.
Define build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring standards for the program.
Ensure SCM, code quality, and test coverage with automated testing for CI/CD pipelines.
Work in an Agile development team to deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
Create scripts to automate provisioning and management tasks.
Collaborate with vendors and IT staff for problem resolution.
Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure.
Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Evaluate performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions with developers.
