Elastic seeks a Principal Software Engineer for the Billing Experience team. You will design APIs, shape user-facing systems, and drive scale, reliability, and developer productivity across billing services.

Collaborate with Product, Design, SRE, and Cloud Infra to ship robust, observable cloud billing experiences. You will mentor engineers, set architectural direction, and ensure contract stability while maintaining a strong customer- and partner-facing API focus in a distributed, async

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend or full-stack engineering.
• Experience building developer-facing APIs at scale.
• Cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Frontend knowledge on console/dashboard products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own complex billing and account management systems and APIs.
• Lead API design and versioning standards across teams.
• Build full-stack features for Elastic Cloud consoles.
• Improve observability, reliability, and CI/CD for billing services.
• Define system architecture for scale and modularity.
• Mentor engineers and tech leads within Billing.
• Coordinate with Product/Design/Finance on roadmap priorities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure production readiness.
