Job summary

UL Solutions seeks a Principal Engineer - Digital AI to lead AI governance and lifecycle assurance across enterprise and cloud AI platforms. You will shape standards, certification, and advisory services while translating regulations and customer needs into scalable offerings.

The role emphasizes governance, risk, and advanced AI technologies, with a hybrid work model requiring three days onsite in UL offices globally; remote considered for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technical experience in software platforms, cloud systems, AI/ML, cybersecurity, risk, or related tech domains.
• Demonstrated experience translating AI governance and regulatory requirements into evaluation methodologies, controls or certification programs.
• Ability to evaluate AI systems and identify failure modes, risks, and control gaps (performance, explainability, privacy, safety).
• Working knowledge of predictive and Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, multi-agent systems, and governance risks.
• Strong presentation, written communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
